Arne Slot has emerged as a potential candidate for AC Milan following his departure from Liverpool. The Italian side are considering an approach as they seek a new manager after sacking Max Allegri, who is expected to join Napoli.
Milan's Managerial Search
Milan have already spoken to Andoni Iraola, the man expected to replace Slot at Liverpool, but he has been waiting for a call from Anfield sporting director Richard Hughes. The Italian club are also due to meet Oliver Glasner early this week as they continue due process.
Glasner is leaving Crystal Palace as a free agent after leading them to Europa Conference League glory against Rayo Vallecano. Liverpool do not need to give permission for clubs to speak to Arne Slot after sacking him.
Iraola's Situation
Palace had also made an offer to Iraola and were hoping for an answer this weekend, prior to news of Slot's departure on Saturday morning.
Milan do not need clearance from Liverpool to speak to Slot, it is understood the terms of his departure leave him free to talk to clubs, but the question will be whether the Dutchman wants to take time off to recharge first.
Milan's Overhaul
Milan sacked not only Allegri but director of sport Igli Tare, CEO Giorgio Furlani and technical director Geoffrey Moncada, the day after their failure to qualify for the Champions League.
Former Tottenham and Barcelona sporting director Ramon Planes is the frontrunner to become Milan's new director of sport.
