Prince William was seen embracing fellow Aston Villa supporters and joking about dancing in the fountains after the club's Europa League final victory over Freiburg in Istanbul on Wednesday night. The win marked Villa's first European trophy since the 1980s.
Footage captured by the Claret & Blue Podcast shows William leaning over a balcony to hug fans Mat Kendrick and Dan Rolinson. 'What an amazing night,' he declared. When the pitch invasion was mentioned, William said he was tempted but added: 'Let's let everyone else have their moment. This is about the players, the team and the fans.'
Dan jokingly asked if they would go dancing in the fountains together, to which William replied: 'You lead the way, mate. I'll follow you.' The prince later joined the dressing room celebrations, drinking beers and posing for photos with manager Unai Emery and director Damian Vidagany.
Maja Lindelof, wife of Villa defender Victor Lindelof, shared an image of William partying with the team's family and friends, captioning it 'off the rails' in Swedish. Villa's season has also secured a return to the Champions League, with a final league match to potentially clinch fourth place.
