Charlotte Chilton, known for her appearance on BBC's The Traitors, is said to be 'shell-shocked' after a second paternity test confirmed that singer Conor Maynard is not the father of her baby daughter, Penelope. The result comes despite Chilton's persistent claims that Maynard is the father.
According to a source, Chilton requested the second test after it was suggested that an unidentified male was present when Maynard's sample was initially taken. However, the result remains unchanged. The source stated that Chilton has been 'fighting for the truth to come out for the past 18 months' and that her motivation was never about money or fame but to have a father's name on Penelope's birth certificate.
Maynard publicly addressed the claims in March, confirming the paternity test results and denying he is the father. In a statement, he said: 'Today I've received the test results which confirm that I am not Penelope's father. I am glad that the speculation can finally be put to an end.' He also urged kindness, noting that 'there is a child at the heart of all of this.'
Chilton's representatives released a statement thanking her legal team and expressing gratitude for support. They added that Chilton will 'take time to process, heal and reflect' before sharing her story in full. The Mirror has contacted representatives for Maynard and Chilton for further comment.
