Turning Point USA has broken its silence to deliver a forceful rebuttal against a barrage of conspiracy theories propagated by commentator Candace Owens, which allege complicity within the organisation in the assassination of its founder, Charlie Kirk.
A Public Rebuke from the Inner Circle
Blake Neff, Kirk's long-time producer, took to the airwaves on Wednesday to address what he described as Owens having "tarred everyone at TPUSA in complicity with Charlie's death." Neff detailed the intense harassment faced by staff and associates, fuelled by Owens' escalating allegations.
"My friends have had to endure harassment from people who have gotten whipped up by what Candace is saying," Neff stated. He made a striking comparison, noting, "In fact, I would say we have suffered more harassment from these people than we have from Antifa supporters who overtly celebrate Charlie's murder."
Bizarre Claims and a Live Challenge
Neff systematically countered a series of Owens' claims, which he characterised as increasingly outlandish. These included assertions that the shooting at Utah Valley University on September 10 was an "inside job," that Kirk's security team deliberately withheld first aid, and her suspicions towards technical staff.
He highlighted the fantastical nature of other theories she has promoted, referencing Egyptian government jets tracking Kirk's wife, French paratroopers, and underground assassins. Neff accused Owens of exploiting her audience, saying she makes claims to "manipulate and string along an audience of people who don't realise they are being played."
In a dramatic conclusion, Neff directly challenged Owens. He invited the provocateur to appear on The Charlie Kirk Show to have her allegations tested live on-air, declaring that "the ball was in her court."
Legacy and Aftermath
Explaining why TPUSA had waited to respond, Neff revealed that Kirk had considered Owens a friend and believed in rising above conservative infighting. Charlie Kirk was shot dead on September 10 while speaking at a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University. Tyler Robinson, 22, a left-wing college dropout, has been charged with his murder.
Kirk built TPUSA into a powerhouse of conservative youth activism. Following his death, his wife Erika assumed the role of CEO, vowing to continue his work. She was joined by President Donald Trump at the White House to accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously for her husband. Trump later eulogised Kirk at a memorial service attended by over 60,000 people at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.
When contacted for comment on TPUSA's rebuttal and the on-air invitation, a spokesman for Owens said she would address the inquiries during her next podcast episode on Wednesday.
