Former Labour deputy leader Tom Watson has announced that he will take a leave of absence from the House of Lords after the return of his cancer.
Lord Watson was diagnosed with non-aggressive prostate cancer in March 2023 and later received the all clear. However, the former minister under Sir Tony Blair and Gordon Brown revealed on his Substack that he learned earlier this year that the cancer had returned.
This is a breaking news story. Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
