Texas police have arrested two individuals in connection with at least 10 random shootings that occurred across Austin over the weekend, with a third suspect potentially still at large, authorities said Monday.
Details of the Shooting Spree
The series of shootings took place late Saturday and Sunday, resulting in at least four people being shot, including one person with serious injuries and others with minor injuries. Police Chief Lisa Davis stated that the shootings appear to be random with no specific motive.
Two of the suspects are described as males in their late teens. The suspects reportedly used several different stolen vehicles, including a black or dark blue Hyundai, a gold Hyundai sedan, a silver Mazda, and a white Kia Optima. Police have advised residents to avoid leaving cars unlocked or with keys inside.
Targeted Incidents
Two of the incidents specifically targeted Austin Fire Department stations, causing minor damage to one fire apparatus and both stations. No firefighters were injured in these attacks.
Authorities continue to investigate and urge anyone with information to come forward. Police are also warning the public to remain vigilant as the investigation unfolds.
