Stacey Solomon has revealed that her husband Joe Swash's brain works 'totally differently' to hers, especially when it comes to organisation. Speaking on her podcast with Sort Your Life Out colleague Dilly Carter, Stacey admitted that while she thrives on order, Joe needs a bit of chaos. 'He actually needs a bit of chaos. I like things organised. And just because that helps me to navigate through my life, that doesn't mean that is the right way to live,' she explained.
The couple, who share a blended family of six children aged seven to 18, have faced rumours of being 'on the brink of divorce,' but Stacey shut these down. She credited their different approaches to life as part of their dynamic, noting that Joe, who has ADHD, often adds to the household chaos. 'Between an 18-year-old teenager and a 45-year-old man with ADHD, it's not easy,' she said, adding that her oldest son Zachary rivals Joe as the messiest family member.
Stacey also opened up about the special meaning of their Essex mansion, Pickle Cottage. 'He's from Islington, I'm from Dagenham. I know they say you grow up and you dream of these kind of things, but Pickle Cottage wasn't a dream for us growing up, because I didn't even know houses like that existed,' she said. 'So when we got Pickle Cottage, I just think we were just like, oh my god, we live in a house like this.'
Despite her love for tidiness, Stacey admitted to being a self-confessed hoarder with a peculiar collection: her children's baby teeth preserved in a single box. 'I had so many kids, I was like, 'I can't just have like five teeth boxes, can I? I'm going to have to make one big teeth box,'' she said. She continues the tradition of leaving a coin under pillows for lost teeth, sometimes using a Euro if she lacks the right change.
The strangest item in Pickle Cottage, however, is a fan-made photo of Joe naked on a paddleboard, inspired by a viral image of Orlando Bloom. 'I was like, Joe, we should take that photo,' Stacey recalled. 'So we did and we did our own reenactment. And then a fan blew it up and put a pickle in front of Joe's [genitals].' Stacey kept the photo for its thoughtfulness, saying, 'It was so lovely and thoughtful of this fan that I thought, I can't throw it away.'
