Paul Robinson has blamed Arne Slot for Mohamed Salah's angry outburst, claiming the Liverpool forward's relationship with the manager has broken down this season. The former Premier League goalkeeper believes Salah's frustration has been building after being left out of the side and struggling with Slot's style of play.
Liverpool's 12th Premier League defeat of the campaign against Aston Villa prompted Salah to launch a furious rant on social media. Writing on Instagram, the Egyptian said the club had 'crumbled' and called for a return to the 'heavy metal attacking' football that had brought success under previous managers.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Robinson said Salah's body language had shown his discontent all season. 'The relationship with the manager has been fragmented for a long time since he was left out of the side,' he said. Robinson added that Liverpool's possession-based approach under Slot did not suit the winger.
Salah now has just one game remaining in a Liverpool shirt, against Brentford at Anfield next weekend. Slot must decide whether to include him after the outburst.
