Late-night host Seth Meyers attended the Met Gala with his wife, but joked that his three young children were not invited. “I think it’s very rude that Vogue didn't invite them,” Meyers quipped. “It's so kid-friendly here. And they're so good at keeping their mitts off things.”
Meyers, a first-time attendee, said he enjoyed seeing “a lot of people that I'm a fan of, or have interviewed on the show.” However, he kept his fashion choices safe: “Nobody wants a guy like me taking a big swing. I stay in my lane.”
The gala’s theme was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” focusing on fragile garments from the museum’s collection. The Great Hall featured a 32-foot-tall “whimsical tree” and performers dressed as woodland creatures. Guests like Lena Waithe took time to view the exhibit, calling it “an art form.”
Other first-timers included K-pop band Stray Kids, who said they were nervous but soon relaxed after meeting Chris Hemsworth and others. Ayo Edebiri, star of “The Bear,” expressed excitement: “This is another really beautiful thing that I will try to do my best to remember.”
