Patriots players and fans were given a fright on Sunday night after running back Rhamondre Stevenson was wiped out in a charity softball match.
Stevenson was on second-base duty during the game, which was organized by New England quarterback Drake Maye and featured celebrities as well as Boston sporting royalty.
Head coach Mike Vrabel was in charge of one of the teams, meaning he had a good view of the collision between Stevenson and Matt Rife.
When the comedian dived to reach second base, he flew into the back of Stevenson's leg. The running back's knee bent awkwardly as he fell to the turf.
Stevenson briefly stayed on the ground - sparking concern among those around him. Thankfully for Patriots fans, however, Stevenson was soon back to his feet with a smile on his face.
He played a key role as New England reached the Super Bowl last season, sharing running back duties with TreVeyon Henderson.
It is not the first time this weekend that an NFL player has sparked injury fears among fans with their antics at a charity softball game. On Saturday, New York Giants star Cam Skattebo performed a backflip just seven months after having surgery on a serious ankle injury.
The running back was enjoying a fine rookie season until he suffered a broken right fibula and dislocated right ankle against the Philadelphia Eagles in October.
Skattebo went under the knife and has been in rehab ever since. The 24-year-old is targeting a return in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season. But he flirted with disaster during an appearance in the Brian Burns Celebrity Softball Game on Saturday. The NFL star scored a home run and then celebrated with a backflip.
