Olivia Attwood's reality show The Heat has reportedly been axed after just one series, failing to impress in the ratings. The 35-year-old presenter has been establishing herself as one of ITV's biggest stars, hosting her own shows Getting Filthy Rich and The Price Of Perfection.
In February, Olivia teamed up with chef Jean-Christophe Novelli to host the Love Island-inspired cooking show, which features 10 aspiring cooks living together in Barcelona while working in a restaurant in Spain. Sources now claim that despite the show's substantial budget, it struggled to attract enough viewers to warrant a second series, with average audience ratings of just 72,000 per episode.
This marks the first of Olivia's shows to fail to secure a second run, although she still has several successful projects, including her own reality show Bad Boyfriends and her role as a panellist on Loose Women.
A source commented: 'The Heat showed a lot of promise but given that it was a long series filmed abroad featuring two big names, the show was not cheap to make. So it had to serve up some seriously meaty ratings, which it just didn't achieve. But competition in TV is particularly stiff right now.'
A representative for ITV told The Sun: 'There are no plans for a second series of The Heat but audiences can watch the first series on ITVX.' The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for the channel for comment.
This news comes after Olivia recently boosted her income by signing a seven-figure deal with a beauty brand, adding to her portfolio alongside campaigns for Maybelline, Garnier, and River Island. She also hosts her own podcast Olivia's House and has launched a bid to break into the American market by promoting her show Stateside.
A source told The Sun: 'Olivia's LOOKFANTASTIC deal is worth a high seven figures and she also signed an exclusive deal with La Roche Posay as part of it. Olivia loves the brand and they love working with her so it's a perfect fit. She's got so many deals on the table right now.'
A representative for Olivia Attwood declined to comment when contacted by The Daily Mail. Olivia had previously shared her hopes of launching a career in the US during an interview with Daily Mail, after her series Getting Filthy Rich and The Price Of Perfection were picked up by Disney+. She said: 'Love Island is huge in America, the UK one so I feel really lucky there was already quite a large US audience on my Instagram, they are definitely happy to have the shows available, also in Australia as well. I'm very happy with my career as it is right now. I mean I've had offers, I'm not looking to jump ship right now, but yes, at some point I'm sure we'll do something over there.'
