Lorraine Kelly was nearly unrecognisable at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, where she wore a colourful volunteer top while visiting a venue on Monday morning. The ITV presenter aimed to highlight the efforts of the hundreds of volunteers running the event, which Scotland prepared for in just 18 months after Victoria, Australia, withdrew as host.
Supporting the Volunteers
Stopping for selfies with spectators at the Scottish Event Campus, Kelly told the Daily Express: “I am supporting the amazing volunteers, who I think are the beating heart of these games. We’re trying today to give a bit more of a headline to train and support the volunteers.”
Of the games, which King Charles III officially opened on Thursday night, she added: “The atmosphere is amazing and it is lovely to be part of this wonderful, wonderful occasion. It’s just wonderful.”
Where to Watch
Kelly said she planned to watch the bowls, calling it “the place to be” as three gold medals were up for grabs on Tuesday: Men’s Singles, Women’s Pairs, and Para Mixed Pairs B2-B3. “That’s where everybody wants to be, because when I’ve been directing people, they’ve just been asking me where the bowls are,” she noted.
The bowls are one of four sports at the SEC, alongside judo, boxing, basketball, and wheelchair basketball. Netball takes place at the nearby Hydro, while weightlifting and para-weightlifting are at the Armadillo. Athletics is held at the EDF Scotstoun Stadium, swimming and para-swimming at Tollcross International Swimming Centre, and cycling and para-cycling at the Glasgow International Arena.
