Royal Expert Warns 'More to Come' as Epstein Document Release Intensifies Scrutiny on Andrew
Freshly disclosed correspondence from the United States Justice Department has revealed that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor appeared to offer congratulations to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein regarding the conclusion of his house arrest. This development emerges as royal commentators caution that the situation may deteriorate further with additional document releases anticipated.
Latest Document Tranche Unveils 2010 Email Exchanges
The US Justice Department published its third substantial batch of documents related to Epstein on Friday, comprising millions of pages. Among these records are email communications from 2010, which notably occurred two years after Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting a minor for prostitution. Epstein had served a thirteen-month jail sentence followed by probation under house arrest, which concluded in the summer of 2010.
An exchange dated late July 2010 involves messages from an account named "The Duke," with signatures reading "HRH The Duke of York KG." On 24 July 2010, Epstein emailed to inform, "I will be in Paris starting tomorrow." That same day, "The Duke" responded with, "Congratulations! [Redacted] told me you were allowed out from yesterday. How long in Paris for? I am back in London from 16th. A."
Plans for Meetings and Discussions of Financial Opportunities
Epstein replied, indicating he would remain in Paris for a period before relocating to a ranch in New Mexico. He referenced an "opportunity" among friends described as "super flush with cash" and "hungry for deals." "The Duke" subsequently responded later that day, stating, "Really, really good news. If you are in Paris around the 16th I'll be across to pay homage to your new life ahead!"
Further correspondence from August 2010 includes an email where Epstein proposed arranging a dinner with a "beautiful" 26-year-old Russian woman. Epstein wrote, "I have a friend who I think you might enjoy having dinner with." "The Duke" replied, "Of course. I am in Geneva until the morning of 22nd but would be delighted to see her. Will she be bringing a message from you? Please give her my contact details to get in touch." In a follow-up, "The Duke" inquired, "Great. Any other information you might know about her that might be useful to know? Like what have you told her about me and have you given her my email as well?" Epstein confirmed, "she 26, russian, clevere [sic] beautiful, trustworthy and yes she has your email."
Ongoing Fallout and Royal Repercussions
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who stepped down from royal duties in 2019 following a controversial Newsnight interview, has faced intensified scrutiny due to the publication of Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoir and the US government's release of documents from Epstein's estate. The King has taken decisive action by stripping his younger brother of his birthright to be a prince and his dukedom, citing "serious lapses of judgment."
Andrew is scheduled to relocate from Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, where he had paid only a nominal peppercorn rent for over two decades, to the King's private Sandringham estate later this year. For many years, he has been confronted with allegations of sexually abusing Giuffre after she was trafficked by Epstein, claims he has consistently denied.
In 2022, Andrew settled a civil sexual assault claim with Ms Giuffre, a woman he maintains he never met, for millions of pounds. He continues to vehemently deny any wrongdoing. The Independent has reached out to Andrew for comment regarding the latest document revelations.
