A Los Angeles neighbourhood is allegedly being 'terrorised' by a naked local resident who, despite more than 150 calls to police and city officials, remains at his home on Garden Grove Avenue in Reseda, making life 'hell' for his neighbours.
The man, known only as Greg, is accused of repeatedly exposing himself from a window and shouting obscenities, including death threats, to both children and adults. Neighbour Ron Veto told KTLA that Greg sometimes 'goes off from 2:00 in the afternoon until 2-3 in the morning'.
Other residents, who asked to remain anonymous out of fear of retaliation, said they feel like hostages in their own homes, afraid to take out the rubbish or walk their dogs to avoid encounters. 'You should be able to open your door and not have to listen to the rantings of a person who needs some serious psychological help,' one resident told NBC Los Angeles.
Neighbours also claim Greg rents several of his backyard sheds to transients. Despite between 150 and 200 calls to police over the years, officers have said there is little they can do. 'We're told that it's a neighbourhood dispute,' Veto said. 'It's hell. It's absolutely hell.'
Documents obtained by KTLA show the homeowner – not specifically identified as Greg – has been cited within the past year for alleged code violations, including improper zoning, unlawful interior alterations, and non-compliant electrical wiring. The homeowner pleaded not guilty to the complaint.
The LAPD told The Independent that the situation is 'a well-known and ongoing neighbour dispute' and that the department is taking appropriate steps. LA City Councilmember Nithya Raman said her office was only made aware of the situation recently and is now actively involved. 'Every resident deserves to feel safe in their neighbourhood… It is also clear that the individual at the centre of this situation is in need of serious support and services,' she added, noting that extra patrols have been employed.
