MI6 Surveilled Andrew and Sarah Ferguson Over Epstein Links, Biographer Claims

Historian Andrew Lownie has made explosive allegations that Britain's foreign intelligence service, MI6, placed the discredited former Duke of York, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, under surveillance. This surveillance was reportedly initiated due to concerns over the "shady people they were associating with," according to a source within the UK intelligence community disclosed to Lownie.

Lownie, the author of the biography Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, asserts that a contact inside MI6 provided him with this sensitive information. While members of the Royal Family themselves cannot legally be subjects of MI6 files, their close connections and associates can be monitored under certain circumstances.

Surveillance Details and Royal Connections

"Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson were monitored because of their associates. MI6 stumbled across them while watching others," Lownie stated in a recent interview. The exact timeframe during which this surveillance supposedly occurred remains unclear and unconfirmed by official channels.

Lownie made these assertions while publicly calling on the Royal Family to address, transparently and comprehensively, the connections between the late Queen's second son and the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. This call to action comes amidst a backdrop of renewed police investigations into allegations stemming from the Epstein files.

Ongoing Police Investigations and Allegations

Surrey Police has recently appealed for information regarding historic allegations of human trafficking and sexual assault linked to the Epstein case. These allegations, detailed in a redacted US Department of Justice report from December, are said to have occurred in Virginia Water, Surrey, between 1994 and 1996.

One particularly disturbing anonymous tip alleges a woman was held down on a table and "tortured with electrical shocks" by Ghislaine Maxwell, with the former prince and other men present as observers. Surrey Police confirmed it had searched its records but found no prior report of these specific allegations. The National Crime Agency has pledged support in obtaining relevant documents from overseas law enforcement.

In a separate development, Essex Police has become the seventh UK police force to examine allegations connected to the latest batch of Epstein documents. Officers are assessing information that Epstein trafficked victims through Stansted Airport on up to 90 occasions between the 1990s and 2018. Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown stated the files reveal in "graphic detail" how Epstein used the Essex airport to "fly in girls from Latvia, Lithuania and Russia."

Pressure Mounts on the Royal Family

Lownie has been vocal in his criticism of the Royal Family's handling of the scandal. "[The Royal Family] need to come clean about what they knew, when they knew it, what they did about it and what they're going to do now," he argued. "The public is not going to be satisfied with bland statements about victims when we all feel that [Andrew] has been enabled and protected for the last 15 years."

He contends that recent statements from the King, Queen, Prince and Princess of Wales, and the Duke of Edinburgh, which aimed to refocus attention on Epstein's victims, are insufficient given the fresh revelations. "This is why it's all smoke and mirrors. What happens in private and what's presented to the public are two very different things, and that's what needs to change," Lownie added.

Calls for Criminal Investigations and Title Renunciations

The biographer is advocating for robust criminal investigations. "People need to face justice, and Andrew needs to be investigated by the Metropolitan Police on what he knew about sex trafficking and by the National Crime Agency for misconduct in public office," Lownie stated. He also believes Sarah Ferguson should be investigated as a "material witness" and called to testify before the US Senate.

In a related business development, six companies connected to the former Duchess of York are being shut down following new disclosures about her association with Epstein in the latest batch of US Department of Justice emails.

Lownie has also suggested that Andrew and Sarah's daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, should consider relinquishing their royal titles. "That's the first thing they should do because that's why there is interest," he said, arguing that their titles are used for commercial advantage. As direct male-line grandchildren of a monarch, they hold their titles under the 1917 Letters Patent and would need to be officially stripped of them or renounce them voluntarily.

Andrew's Current Situation and Outlook

Amidst the controversy, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who recently celebrated his 66th birthday, has been ousted from Royal Lodge in Windsor by King Charles. He is set to relocate to Marsh Farm, a five-bedroom farmhouse on the Sandringham Estate, which was formerly Prince Philip's retirement retreat. The property is undergoing renovations, and Andrew is temporarily residing at Wood Farm on the same estate.

Lownie speculated that if criminal charges are ever brought, Andrew "will disappear to the Middle East to avoid a trial." He described the former Duke as "entitled, narcissistic, stupid, lacks self-awareness and is surrounded by sycophants," adding that Andrew's disastrous 2019 BBC interview was "a case study in reputation management and how not to do it."

Despite the barrage of allegations, Andrew is reportedly "raging" and believes his treatment by the Royal Family has been "too harsh." He has previously denied any wrongdoing regarding his connections to Epstein but has not commented on the current investigations by Essex and Thames Valley police forces. MI6, Buckingham Palace, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor have all been approached for comment on these latest allegations.
