Maura Higgins has claimed that some of her former partners struggled with her success, stating they 'didn't like her overshadowing them'. The 35-year-old, who rose to fame on Love Island and now stars on The Traitors US and Dancing With the Stars, has dated a string of high-profile men, including Giovanni Pernice, Bobby Holland Hanton, and Pete Wicks.
Speaking to The Sun, Higgins said: 'Some of my ex-partners didn't like me overshadowing them, it was probably an ego thing. My friends keep saying that my next partner needs to let me shine and be who I am.' The reality star has also been linked to Curtis Pritchard, Chris Taylor, Joey Essex, and Danny Jones.
In a separate interview with Glamour Magazine, Higgins admitted to having 'serious trust issues' in relationships, revealing she would check her partner's phone within a week of dating. 'I've turned into a bit of an investigator because men have done me dirty,' she said. Last year, she hinted that ex-boyfriend Pete Wicks had been unfaithful after finding messages on his phone, though a source close to Wicks denied the allegations.
Higgins most recently sparked romance speculation with Traitors US co-star Rob Rausch, but both confirmed they are just friends. The Irish former ring girl has had a series of high-profile romances, including a four-month relationship with Strictly's Giovanni Pernice and a ten-month stint with stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton.
