Kelvin Evans has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music from a rental car in Atlanta.
The theft occurred in July 2025 before Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour dates in Atlanta. The hard drives contained watermarked music, unreleased tracks, footage plans and set lists.
Evans was arrested in September 2025 after police tracked stolen AirPods and laptops. He accepted a five-year sentence, with two years to serve in custody, in an Atlanta court on Tuesday.
As part of his probation, Evans must avoid the location of the theft and have no contact with the victim. The stolen property has not been recovered.
Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour was the highest-grossing of 2024, earning over $407m. Rumours persist of a new album, Act III, possibly with a rock direction.
