Journalist Emily Maitlis has revealed she was deeply unsettled by a newly surfaced email from Prince Andrew to Jeffrey Epstein, which contradicts the Duke of York's claims during their 2019 Newsnight interview.
The email, in which Andrew wrote “we are in this together” and urged Epstein to “play some more soon,” directly undercut his on-camera assertion that he had severed ties with the convicted sex offender.
Maitlis, who conducted the interview, said reading the email forces her and the public to reconsider the reliability of everything Andrew said in that broadcast. She described feeling “quite sick” upon seeing the message.
The revelations come after Andrew faced renewed scrutiny over his association with Epstein, a convicted paedophile and financier. Last Friday, the Duke sensationally relinquished all his titles and honorary military roles.
