Knox Jolie-Pitt Drops Father's Surname Ahead of 18th Birthday

Knox Jolie-Pitt, the youngest son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has reportedly dropped his father's surname, opting to be known as Knox Jolie. The 17-year-old was listed under the name Knox Jolie at his recent high school graduation, according to Page Six.

Knox follows in the footsteps of his older siblings, with brother Maddox filing to legally change his name to Maddox Chivan Jolie in May. Shiloh successfully petitioned a Los Angeles court to change her name in 2024, and Zahara has also filed a petition to drop the Pitt surname.

Vivienne, Knox's twin sister, has also unofficially dropped her father's surname, being credited as Vivienne Jolie in the playbill for a Broadway production of The Outsiders. Under California law, Knox and Vivienne can legally change their names without parental consent once they turn 18 next month.

The name changes come years after Jolie and Pitt's acrimonious divorce, which was finalised in December 2024. During the separation, Jolie alleged that Pitt displayed abusive behaviour towards her and their children in 2016, an incident Pitt denied.
