Former Love Island star Katie Salmon has given her followers a candid look at her court-ordered community service, following her conviction for assault last year.

From Villa to High-Vis: A Social Media Update

The 30-year-old reality TV personality, who rose to fame on the ITV2 dating show in 2016, took to Instagram on Friday to share a selfie. Grinning in a high-visibility jacket, she documented her second day of service.

Salmon joked about the popular social media trend comparing life now to a decade ago, referencing her tumultuous journey. "Erm community service day 2. Smiling through the pain," she wrote. "Probably shouldn’t document this but keeping it real."

In a reflective post, the born-again Christian added, "Now I know why the Bible says if someone slaps the cheek give them other. Especially when the 2016-2026 is going off. My 10 year recap is and will be a book let me tell you."

The Assault and Court Sentence

The community service order stems from an incident in July last year. Katie Salmon was found guilty of assaulting her boyfriend's other girlfriend on a street in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

The court heard that the attack involved a hairdryer and a stiletto shoe. As a result, Salmon received a suspended prison sentence, avoiding immediate jail time, and was ordered to carry out unpaid work.

A Public Apology and a Journey of Faith

In a lengthy and emotional video posted to social media in September, Salmon broke her silence. Fighting back tears, she addressed the legal case and her personal transformation.

"I've had to learn to take accountability and face the repercussions," she stated, explaining her absence from social media. She revealed the personal cost, including being separated from her daughter.

While citing legal reasons for not discussing the case details, she emphasised her newfound faith. "What is important is what I learned from it and how I found God through it," Salmon said.

She concluded with a defiant message to critics, asserting her comeback was just beginning. "Jesus is restoring what was stolen from me, he is healing what has been broken in me," she added.

Katie Salmon made Love Island history in 2016 as part of the show's first all-female couple with the late Sophie Gradon. She eventually finished in fourth place with co-star Adam Maxted.
