Far-right commentator and staunch Trump loyalist Laura Loomer has launched a blistering attack on Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, accusing her of hypocrisy. The feud erupted after Greene publicly criticised what she termed the over-sexualisation of women within Donald Trump's inner circle.
Loomer's Allegations and Resurfaced Video
In a social media post on X, Loomer labelled Greene a 'fraud' and dredged up a years-old video from a 2020 Republican Party meeting. The clip shows the Georgia congresswoman caressing a cardboard cutout of Donald Trump, with Loomer accusing her of 'sexually molesting' the effigy. Loomer reposted this video, which originally appeared online in February 2021, on Tuesday morning, directly linking it to Greene's recent remarks.
The incendiary criticism did not stop there. Loomer also revisited a 2021 Daily Mail investigation that alleged Greene had affairs with multiple men at a Georgia CrossFit gym around 2012 while she was still married. Greene has previously denied these allegations, dismissing them as 'ridiculous tabloid garbage.'
Greene's Critique of 'Mar-a-Lago Face'
The trigger for Loomer's broadside was a wide-ranging New York Times article published on Monday, which featured conversations with Greene over the past two years. In it, Greene expressed discomfort with the cosmetic procedures popular among some women in Trump's orbit, a trend sometimes referred to as 'Mar-a-Lago face.'
'I believe how women in leadership present themselves sends a message to younger women,' Greene told the outlet. She added, 'I have two daughters, and I've always been uncomfortable with how those women puff up their lips and enlarge their breasts.' Greene emphasised she had 'never been a fan' of the 'MAGA Mar-a-Lago sexualization' and had been planning to speak out.
A Fractured Alliance and Personal Fallout
This public spat highlights a significant rupture within the MAGA movement. Greene was once Trump's most fervent defender, but the two had a very public falling out this year. The congresswoman disagreed with the former president on key issues, including his international travel schedule and his administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
The discord culminated in Trump dubbing Greene 'Marjorie Traitor Greene.' Subsequently, on January 5, Greene announced she would be leaving her House seat mid-term. She cited the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk on September 10 as a catalyst for reflection, stating, 'After Charlie died, I realized that I'm part of this toxic culture. I really started looking at my faith.'
Greene's personal life has also seen upheaval. Her husband, Perry Greene, filed for divorce in 2022, citing an 'irretrievably broken' marriage, though the papers did not mention infidelity. She is now engaged to conservative reporter Brian Glenn. Greene's office did not respond to a Daily Mail request for comment regarding Loomer's recent posts or the old video.
