A trove of documents related to the late child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has been released by the US justice department. The cache includes thousands of files and photographs featuring Epstein and his accomplice, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, alongside some of the most influential figures from the last century.
The images help illustrate the relationships forged by Epstein and Maxwell with royalty, politicians, musicians and actors. The release provides a visual record of their extensive social network, though no new allegations have been made.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for child sex trafficking. Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial, having been convicted of child sex offences in a separate case in 2008.
