Katy Timpf Devastated by Father's Sudden Death

Fox News host Kat Timpf has said she is 'living an unimaginable horror' following her father's unexpected death at the age of 69. The 37-year-old presenter announced on Tuesday that her dad, Daniel, died suddenly on May 7 and that she does not know how she will recover.

A Year of Challenges

Timpf's tragedy comes after she underwent a double mastectomy last year. She was diagnosed with stage zero breast cancer just 15 hours before the birth of her first child.

Tributes to Her Father

In a statement, Timpf described her late father as 'loyal, funny, kind, selfless, hard-working, and so devoted to his children' and that he was her 'rock' and her 'best friend.' 'He was the most dependable person anyone has ever met,' she wrote. 'I always felt like, as long as I had his phone number, there was not a problem I could not solve. I needed him here with me; I am not okay, and I am far from the only person who feels this.'

Timpf revealed that she last saw her father on the Monday before he died and that her son was 'so proud to help his grandfather push his suitcase down to the car as he left.' 'The goodbyes were quick,' she recalled. 'Why wouldn't they be? We would all see each other again at the beginning of June, when we would all head to Texas for my shows and to see my grandpa.'

Support Through Cancer and Motherhood

Timpf shared that her father had been by her side through her cancer journey and the birth of her son, describing him as the reason for her stability. She added that her mother Anne Marie died in 2014. 'It was an awful, awful year… but I found so much joy and hope throughout it by watching the beauty of a very special relationship form between my son and my father,' she wrote.

Voicing her devastation over her sudden loss, Timpf said that she would 'amputate her breasts every year just to be able to speak with him one more time, even for five minutes.' Concluding her post, she urged her followers to 'do something kind for someone you know.' She also asked for donations for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she was treated last year, in lieu of flowers.

Outpouring of Support

Timpf has been flooded with heartfelt messages of condolences since sharing the news of her loss. Former White House press secretary Dana Perino penned: 'This is a shock. He adored you. He was a great man. May he Rest in Peace.' Fox & Friends newsreader Carly Shimkus said: 'Oh Kat, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Love you always and forever.' Political editor Guy Benson wrote: 'Kat, just gutted for you and your whole family. No words suffice. We love you.'
