Katie Price's husband Lee Andrews has not been heard from in nearly a week, but it is claimed he has been using his mobile phone. The businessman vanished last week, leaving the former glamour model, 47, and her husband's family desperately searching for him.
Foreign Office Involvement
The Foreign Office has confirmed they are assisting the family after a missing persons report was filed. Despite the radio silence and claims of a kidnapping, reports indicate Lee has been using his device, though not to contact Katie.
The mother-of-five has shared the last messages she received from Lee, which appeared to say he had been arrested, before changing to detained. He told his wife he would sort it, but has not been heard from since.
Messages and Claims
In his final messages to Katie, Lee claimed he had been taken to a 'black site'. However, the Criminal Investigation Department in Dubai confirmed no one by his name has been detained. Now, it is claimed the self-proclaimed millionaire, 43, has been active on his mobile phone. According to reports, Lee checked his WhatsApp messages at 5.56pm on Saturday, days after he last contacted Katie.
Katie previously stated that neither she nor Lee's family had heard anything more. She said: 'His dad's out in Dubai, he has heard nothing and the rest of his family's in the UK. And obviously me, we have reported him to the British embassy as a missing person. He's been reported in Dubai as a missing person. The last time, you know, I heard from him, as I said before, was Wednesday. At 10 o'clock I've been reading his last few messages and then I've heard nothing. My anxiety levels are sky high.'
Family Tensions
Despite Katie's public announcements, her efforts are said to annoy Lee's family. A family friend revealed that Lee's sister Kelly is leading the family's response. Speaking to a publication, the friend said: 'She is trying to take the strain off her mother, Trisha, and I'm trying to support both of them through this worrying time. Kelly wasn't happy with the video Katie put out about him being kidnapped. That blew everything up, and it was unnecessary.'
These comments follow Lee's mother seemingly taking a swipe at Katie on Facebook. One follower commented under a post promoting her psychic night, saying: 'Think everyone needs to leave her [Trisha] alone as she's not responsible for Price's drama-queen antics.' Trisha appeared to agree, responding: 'Thank you Jane it's Katy exploiting and I get all the backlash.'
Despite the criticism, Katie denies claims that Lee's disappearance is a publicity stunt. Instead, she has pleaded for her husband's location to be determined.
