Katie Price's husband Lee Andrews is not being hunted by international police, a source has confirmed to the Mirror, as mystery continues to surround his sudden disappearance. The self-styled businessman has not been seen for 11 days.
Disappearance and Claims
Lee was due to appear on Good Morning Britain with Katie but failed to board his flight. Later, Katie claimed she received a FaceTime call from him, during which he said his hands had been 'cable-tied' and that he had been bundled into the back of a van. She later shared text messages she said were from his phone, including one that read: 'Been arrested, I'll be in touch.'
Interpol Rumours Dismissed
It had been claimed that Lee was being sought by Interpol, but a source told the Mirror this is not the case. If he is being held by authorities in the United Arab Emirates, it is unlikely to be due to a report first received by Hertfordshire Police earlier this year.
Police Statement
In a statement to the Mirror, Hertfordshire Police said: 'We'd like to clarify that Hertfordshire Constabulary received a report in March, however, once it was established the alleged offences happened in Dubai, we referred this case to the relevant authorities as this was outside of our jurisdiction.'
Katie's Account
In a recent YouTube video, Katie claimed that Lee said his 'kidnappers' had taken two of his phones, but he had a secret third phone he was using to contact her. She relayed messages over the phone, saying: 'They've taken two of my phones. They don't know I'm on this phone.' She added that he texted to say he had been arrested.
Father-in-law's Comments
Lee's father has claimed his son is not missing but is locked up in prison. He said: 'Lee is OK. He has not been kidnapped but he is under arrest. I don't know on what charge.' Katie later branded that announcement 'fake news', stating: 'Lee is still missing. Me and his family know what's going on and working with the authorities involved.'
