Katie Price has disclosed that her missing husband, Lee Andrews, has been located in a Dubai prison, with the reality star revealing the true reason behind his arrest. In a two-minute phone call from Al Awir prison on Wednesday morning, Andrews claimed he was being held on suspicion of espionage after his arrest on May 14.
The 48-year-old former glamour model had been searching for Andrews for two weeks, believing he had been 'kidnapped' after his last messages suggested he was being taken to a 'black site'. Despite earlier denials, it has now emerged that Andrews' father arranged the call, which came from a prison phone box.
Price told The Sun: 'I have found him – he is alive, and he is ok. I told him how worried I had been and told him I loved him. It was very rushed, but he said the authorities out there thought he was a spy.' However, it is understood that Andrews will be released on Monday after paying a four-figure fine, with authorities confirming he is not being held on espionage charges but over a 'private civil matter'.
In a podcast episode, Price detailed the ordeal, saying Andrews had been 'interrogated' and had 'hoods on him'. She also revealed that she told him he was the 'most hated man in Britain' and that many people thought his disappearance was a scam. Price promised a tell-all interview with Andrews upon his release.
Andrews, who previously presented himself as a CEO and investor, has faced scrutiny over his background, including allegations of fraud and AI-generated photos with celebrities. He was also reportedly unable to leave Dubai due to a suspected fraud case involving a mortgage taken out in his ex-girlfriend's name.
