Katie Price has announced she is stepping back from the search for her missing husband, Lee Andrews, citing concerns for her own mental health. The 47-year-old former glamour model, who married the Dubai businessman in January just two weeks after meeting him, has faced a whirlwind of media attention since their wedding, particularly amid allegations that Andrews is a conman.
Background of the Disappearance
Since tying the knot, Price has frequently travelled between the UK and Dubai. Andrews was expected to arrive in the UK last week to appear on Good Morning Britain for what would have been their first joint television interview as a couple. However, he failed to board his flight, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
Price's Statement
Speaking on the latest episode of The Katie Price Show podcast, Price said: "There's nothing I can do, nothing more that I can say. And the police are dealing with it. I'm just leaving it to the police." She added: "I'm not gonna talk about it anymore, I'm just staying quiet because it's getting ridiculous now, people just taking the p**s out of everything."
Price confirmed that the British police, the British consulate, the Foreign Office, and Interpol are all involved in the search. "All I can do is just get on with my life. I've got lots of exciting things coming up, and I'm just waiting for a call. What am I supposed to do, sit here and cry and do nothing, stay in bed? For my own sanity, I'm taking a step back," she explained.
Previous Efforts to Locate Andrews
After spending hours trying to contact her husband without success, Price contacted the police. On her YouTube channel, she revealed: "Then we got in contact with the police out in Dubai and I've got a head of CID out there, so it's really worrying because me and Lee are in constant, constant contact all the time." She added that his phone location had been switched off, prompting her to involve the authorities. "So far, I got a message this morning, saying that no one can find anywhere in the country where Lee has been detained," she said.
Family Reactions
Price's sister, Sophie, who has previously expressed disapproval of Andrews, commented on the situation: "I don't know Lee and I don't have an affinity with Lee. I didn't know him, Kate does, I don't. I can't really say too much on that." She emphasised that her priority remains her sister and their family.
Price insisted she would not let a man "break her down" mentally and noted that the matter is now out of her hands. "If they find Lee, I'll cross that bridge when it happens. Onwards and upwards," she said, before shifting focus to her son Harvey and her upcoming birthday.
