Caitlyn Jenner has formally requested access to the Apple ID of her late friend and manager, Sophia Hutchins, who died in an ATV accident in July 2025 at age 29. The request comes as Jenner, now 76, seeks to recover nearly half a million dollars she claims Hutchins owed at the time of her death.
Legal Motion for Account Access
The former Olympian is seeking access to Hutchins' Apple account, alongside her estate. The estate, overseen by Hutchins' mother Amy, filed documents on Friday requesting a court order to authorize access. According to TMZ, the estate cannot meet financial obligations without account access, including paying income taxes and completing an inventory and appraisal of assets.
Jenner's Claim of Work-Related Information
Jenner maintains that she also requires access because Hutchins held 'work-related information' in the account. She asserts that without it, her businesses will suffer. On September 19, 2025, Jenner filed a creditor's claim with Hutchins' estate, detailing cash advances and unpaid personal purchases.
Details of the Debt
According to documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Hutchins requested cash advances totaling $7,150 between February 22 and June 17, 2025, with repayment expected later. Additionally, multiple personal purchases on Jenner's cards from November 24, 2024, to July 2, 2025—the day of Hutchins' death—remained unpaid. The principal includes $273,453.49 on Jenner's credit card and $15,913.55 on her debit card. Jenner also seeks $9,890.65 in interest accrued on credit card charges.
Legal Fee Reimbursement
Jenner noted that she and Hutchins hired attorneys for a lawsuit, agreeing to split costs evenly. Jenner paid upfront, expecting reimbursement. Hutchins had repaid $75,000 but still owed $133,509.58 at her death. A detailed breakdown shows debts to vendors including $242,491.20 to 1stdibs.com, $19,500 to Tomlin Antiques, $16,163.65 to Restoration Hardware, and others.
Estate Approval
About four months after Jenner's claim, Hutchins' estate filed approval to pay the full requested amount on March 30, 2025, according to documents. Hutchins died after plunging 530 feet down a cliff; the cause was multiple blunt force injuries. A medical examiner's report found no alcohol or drugs involved. The ATV wreck was ruled an accident, and Hutchins was buried at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Los Angeles on July 24.
