Jacob Elordi tipped as next James Bond after Chanel advert sparks fan frenzy

Speculation over who will replace Daniel Craig as James Bond has intensified after a new Chanel advert starring Jacob Elordi showed off his espionage skills. The Euphoria actor, 28, is seen chasing a masked burglar through a luxury home in the promotional video for Bleu De Chanel L’Exclusif, leading fans to believe he is being lined up for the iconic role.

In the advert, Elordi opens a safe to retrieve the fragrance before a woman in a lace mask steals it, prompting a high-stakes pursuit. Social media users quickly drew comparisons to 007, with one commenting: “I think they’re preparing us for the James Bond announcement.” Another wrote: “Jacob is giving Bond vibes.” Some questioned whether the advert was a “soft launch” for a casting announcement.

Elordi joins a list of rumoured candidates including Idris Elba, Tom Holland and Taron Egerton, but fans are convinced the Australian actor is the frontrunner. The speculation comes after Daniel Craig stepped down from the role following No Time to Die in 2021, having played the secret agent across five films.

Craig previously spoke about the physical toll of playing Bond, telling a 2021 interview that he finished filming Spectre with a broken leg. He said: “I was thinking: I don’t know if I can do another one of these. Do I have this in me? Do I want to go through all of this?” Since leaving the franchise, he has taken on other roles including the Knives Out series.
