Nadia Sawalha Imposes Lifetime Driving Ban After Failing Celebrity Test

Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha has revealed she has imposed a 'lifetime ban' on herself from driving, two decades after failing her test on the celebrity version of the show. The 61-year-old television personality and actress discussed her driving history during Friday's episode of the ITV programme.

In 2003, Sawalha attempted to pass her driving test on Celebrity Driving School in aid of Red Nose Day but was unsuccessful. Although she later passed a test and obtained a licence, she explained to fellow panelists why she has chosen not to drive. 'I have imposed a court case on myself as I know I am a terrible driver,' she said.

When asked by Christine Lampard for her reasoning, Sawalha replied: 'Well, I never felt safe after I passed my test. My brain just goes all over the place.' She recounted a particular test where she was asked to turn the car around in the middle of the road. 'I did it, but I ended up facing the same way as I'd started,' she said. 'The worst thing was, it was being filmed for a show of Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre of which I was the presenter.'
