A woman who is seven months pregnant has described how her life fell apart after discovering her husband had been having an affair with her mother for 22 years – spanning the entire length of their marriage.
The 40-year-old, writing on Reddit, said she had been with her husband, 39, since they were 15 and married at 18. She moved into her grandparents' house next door to her parents, and believed she had a happy marriage. Her world shattered on New Year's Eve when she returned early from a girl's trip to find her mother having sex with her husband in her bedroom.
Confronting her husband, she learnt the affair had started when they were 18 and living with her parents. He told her they had been having unprotected sex at least once a month for longer than the couple had been married. She then realised the timeline meant her twin brothers and youngest brother could be her husband's biological children.
She made her husband confess to her father, who was devastated. At a family gathering at her sister's home, she exposed the affair to the adult family members. Most sided with her, but three youngest siblings and her husband's family called her unreasonable for making it public.
Her mother has since been dismissed from her role as a children's pastor and has accused the woman of ruining her reputation and life. The woman said she is planning a divorce and remains bitter and angry at her mother's hypocrisy.
