Gladiators star Giant has offered an olive branch to his estranged wife after she took a savage swipe at his new relationship with OnlyFans model Taylor Ryan. Giant, whose real name is Jamie Bigg, 40, separated from Katie Christian, 41, in November after 13 years of marriage.
He has since gone public with his new girlfriend and was axed from Gladiators because the BBC were not happy with his plans to post pictures with an OnlyFans content creator on social media while starring on their family-friendly show. In a post seen by The Sun, Katie admitted she was 'struggling' with being 'replaced' after she had spent over a decade with Jamie.
But seemingly eager to make amends, Jamie told the publication: 'I hope she's okay. This isn't how I would have liked it to come out to the world.' He added: 'But that wasn't done from a place of having a lack of respect or love for anyone in my family. I've done what I can do to kind of communicate with the people I care about.'
Before adding: 'I've done my thing. And I know that I'm at peace with how it's come out and what we've been able to do to lower the impact on the people that's close to us.' Daily Mail have contacted Katie's representatives for comment.
In her post, Katie said: 'When something gets celebrated without knowing the reality behind it, social media shows a moment it doesn't show the truth, and sometimes what gets congratulated isn't what it looks like.' She continued: 'Now I'm not going to pretend that this is easy to sit with. I am struggling with how easily something real gets replaced by something new and then held up like it carries the same weight.'
'A 13 year life doesn't just disappear because something new feels exciting, home, family, kids, dogs, the version of me that held things together for years, that doesn't just switch off because someone else is now being shown now.'
Giant has also claimed viewers have been left 'disgusted' by his axe from the BBC show over his new relationship. He hit out at show producer and Hungry Bear boss Dan Baldwin, who is married to Holly Willoughby, who he claimed branded Taylor's racy career a 'child safeguarding risk'. But the ex bodybuilder has insisted parents with young children who are fans of the show have thrown their support behind him.
'I've had a lot of messages from parents saying their children are so upset that I'm leaving the show, I feel as though the response from the parents has made it really clear that it was never going to be an issue,' he said. He went on: 'There's nothing in our contracts about who you're allowed to be with, who you're allowed to love or what relationships you're allowed to have away from the show.'
Discussing fans reactions to his sacking, he told The Sun: 'I would use the word disgust as well because a lot of people said how unfair it is. They loved Giant and they obviously love the show.' Daily Mail have contacted Hungry Bear and BBC for comment.
