Gen Z Most Skeptical of Governments on UFOs, Poll Finds

A new poll has revealed that Generation Z is the most skeptical age group when it comes to government transparency on UFOs and alien life. According to the survey, 60% of Gen Z respondents believe world leaders are concealing information about UFOs and extraterrestrial life from the public.

Generational Divide on Alien Secrecy

The findings highlight a stark generational divide, with only 41% of Baby Boomers sharing similar suspicions. Overall, nearly half (49%) of all British adults think governments know more than they disclose about UFOs and alien life.

Skepticism in the Age of AI

More than half (52%) of respondents said they would be more skeptical of UFO footage released today, with 75% questioning visual evidence in the era of artificial intelligence. Younger individuals were also more likely to believe in the existence of alien life and to view potential contact as dangerous. Nevertheless, 62% of all Brits believe alien life exists somewhere in the universe.

Documentary Sparks New Debate

The research was commissioned by Sky to promote the upcoming documentary The Alien Autopsy Scandal, airing on Sky Documentaries and streaming service NOW. The film revisits the controversial 1995 alien autopsy footage that became a global phenomenon.

Hayley Reynolds, Sky’s head of documentary commissioning, said: “The Alien Autopsy Scandal asks viewers a deceptively simple question, ‘What do we believe?’ In an age of deepfakes, AI and social media commentary, this question is more relevant than ever. This series takes viewers back to one of the biggest media phenomena of the 1990s while exploring why our fascination with alien life remains stronger than ever.”
