Actress Jaz Sinclair, who plays Marie Moreau in Gen V and the currently airing The Boys, has addressed the cancellation of the spin-off series. Taking to Instagram, she thanked fans for their support, writing: “There’s so much I wanna (and will) say, but for today I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m so happy you’re here, and I’m so grateful for this incredible experience.”
The second season of Gen V concluded with Moreau joining the Starlighters resistance against Homelander, played by Antony Starr. However, fans will not see the story continue after it was announced that a third season would not go ahead.
Executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg said in a statement: “While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the ‘Gen V’ characters’ stories in ‘The Boys’ Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again.”
Prime Video has been approached for comment regarding the reason behind the cancellation. Fans expressed disappointment on Sinclair’s Instagram, with one saying: “Jaz don’t worry Gen V will be avenged. We’ll miss you and the rest of the cast so much.” Another wrote: “If Marie's and the gang's story is not concluded well in The Boys S5 or we don't see Marie again elsewhere, Amazon can watch the other spin-offs themselves, we are dunzo.”
Gen V premiered in 2023, with its second season airing in September 2025. The show was set at Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, where young supes trained for a chance to join The Seven. With The Boys also ending after season five, a prequel series called Vought Rising, set in the 1950s and starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, is expected to premiere in 2027.
