Former WWE star Sable, who vanished from the spotlight after retiring in 2004 to pursue a reclusive tradwife life in rural Canada, made a surprising public appearance over the weekend. The three-time Playboy cover girl, now 58, resurfaced to support her husband Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 42 in Las Vegas.
While the mother of three attempted to keep a low profile, she was captured in a rare selfie with Lesnar and Canadian MAGA rapper Tom MacDonald. Sable, whose real name is Rena Lesnar, was nearly unrecognizable in the photo, sporting long brown hair and conservative attire instead of the iconic blonde bombshell style she was once famous for.
MacDonald shared the selfie on social media, explaining how he ended up chatting with the WWE legend. "I bumped into Brock Lesnar in my hotel and when I extended my hand to thank him for his contributions to pro wrestling he said 'Tom MacDonald! No, thank you for what you do. We listen to you all the time'," MacDonald wrote. "For 20 minutes we chatted and I got to know what a genuinely cool (and REAL) dude he is." MacDonald is known for his right-wing rap hits such as Snowflakes, Fake Woke, and The Devil Is A Democrat.
Though MacDonald made no mention of Sable in his post, wrestling fans on social media were stunned to see the reclusive star again. "Damn, could not recognize her without the blonde hair," commented one fan. Another wrote, "Sable looks great! The blonde was iconic but I think this is her natural hair color. It's good to see her pop up because I know she's completely anti [social media]." A third added, "I just don't understand why Sable isn't paraded around like the legend that she is."
Sable has only been publicly photographed a handful of times in the last decade. She was last seen in May 2025 attending a private country music party with Lesnar and friends. At the height of her fame in the late 1990s, she was the biggest female star in professional wrestling. She first entered the business in 1996 as the manager for her then-husband Marc Mero. Due to her stunning beauty and scantily clad outfits, Sable's popularity exploded, quickly surpassing most male talent on the show.
Despite limited wrestling skills, she was crowned WWE Women's Champion and became a main draw for pay-per-view specials. In 1999, she became the first WWE star to cover Playboy magazine, with her issue becoming the highest-selling in the magazine's history at that time. She covered it again months later, becoming the first woman to land two Playboy covers in one year. That same year, she quit WWE and filed a $110 million lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and unsafe working conditions. One shocking allegation was that a male wrestler defecated in her bag as a sick prank. Sean Waltman, known as X-Pac, later confirmed he was the culprit. Sable and WWE settled out of court in 1999.
She returned to WWE in 2003, reprising her character in racy storylines, and covered Playboy for a third time in 2004 alongside Torrie Wilson. She left WWE for good months later. Around that time, her then-husband Mero claimed she had an affair with Lesnar. She married Lesnar in 2006, and the couple has two sons. After finding love, Sable ceased nearly all public appearances, only occasionally supporting her husband at UFC events. Lesnar, who grew up on a dairy farm in South Dakota, moved the family to a rural farm in Saskatchewan, Canada, in 2014. In a rare 2010 interview, Lesnar explained, "I just don't put myself out there to the fans and prostitute my private life to everybody. In today's day and age, with the internet and cameras and cell phones, I just like being old school and living in the woods and living my life. I came from nothing and at any moment, you can go back to having nothing."
