Former Disney Star Steven Anthony Lawrence Shocks Fans on The Floor
Ex-Disney Star Lawrence Appears on Rob Lowe's Game Show

Former Disney child star Steven Anthony Lawrence made a surprise appearance on Rob Lowe's game show The Floor this week, delighting fans who remember him from his iconic role in the early 2000s.

The 35-year-old actor, best known for portraying Bernard "Beans" Aranguren on the Disney Channel hit Even Stevens from 2001 to 2003, competed in the Renaissance Faire category on Wednesday's episode of the FOX trivia series. He faced another contestant named Morgan and later explained to Lowe why he chose that segment.

"I've played an elf and done a bunch of character roles in my life, so I'm feeling very knowledgeable in the category," Lawrence said in a clip. When asked about his favorite role, he replied, "Favorite was definitely Beans from Even Stevens," prompting applause from the live audience.

Lawrence won the Renaissance-themed round, earning 17 spaces on the game floor, but later lost to a contestant named Anthony in the Global News category. His appearance marks a rare public sighting for the actor, who has largely stayed out of the spotlight since his early fame.

From Child Star to Cult Icon

Lawrence found fame in 2001 when he was cast as Beans, the Stevens family's extremely annoying neighbor who would barge into their home uninvited. The character became a sidekick to Louis (Shia LaBeouf) and Twitty (A.J. Trauth), often double-crossing them in their schemes. Lawrence appeared in 22 episodes of Even Stevens and starred in The Even Stevens Movie before leaving the series in 2003.

He also featured in beloved children's films of the late 1990s and early 2000s, including My Favorite Martian with Jeff Daniels, The Cat In The Hat with Mike Myers, and Cheaper By The Dozen with Steve Martin. His last major film was the 2005 comedy Kicking & Screaming with Will Ferrell.

Lawrence landed roles in popular TV shows such as Married... with Children, The Amanda Show, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Frasier, ER, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and That's So Raven. He continued acting in films like Rebound (2005), Bratz (2007), and Archie's Final Project (2009).

Social Media and Personal Life

Lawrence remains active on Instagram, where he has nearly 8,000 followers. In January 2024, he claimed he was fired from his job at Universal Studios in retaliation for reporting an alleged pedophile. In an Instagram post, he shared an image of his work ID and name tag propped against a Super Mario Toad costume, alleging that his boss and HR representative retaliated against him. A Universal spokesperson denied the claims, stating they were "inaccurate and without merit."

Lawrence has also been open about his past addiction to drugs and alcohol, and he has been sober since 2019. He speaks at high schools, warning students about the dangers of substance abuse.
