Eight Durham Police Officers Suspended Over Spain Trip

Eight police officers from Durham Constabulary have been suspended following an investigation into alleged misconduct during an off-duty trip to Spain. The officers, including a sergeant, six police constables, and a special constable, were suspended in October last year.

Durham Police confirmed that the officers face allegations of failing to uphold professional standards. The force's professional standards department is leading the investigation into their behaviour while on holiday.

A Durham Police spokeswoman stated: “The investigation is ongoing and all eight remain under suspension.” According to local reports, the alleged misbehaviour occurred on a “booze-fuelled” trip and involved an inappropriate tattoo.
