The son of a British man wrongfully imprisoned in Dubai for five years has accused Katie Price's husband, Lee Andrews, of hijacking his family's trauma and branding him a 'Tinder Swindler' style con artist.
Wolfgang Douglas, whose father Albert Douglas was jailed in the United Arab Emirates for debts he did not owe, told the Mirror: 'Dubai is a fake city. A fake world, a fake economy, with fake economics. It's a fake place filled with fake people. Lee Andrews is probably the fakest of them between his fake teeth and his fake Instagram and his fake LinkedIn and his fake photographs with his AI.'
Albert Douglas, 63, returned to his London home in December after a brutal ordeal that included alleged torture and being forced to drink toilet water. He was exonerated by the UN. Wolfgang believes Lee, who is reportedly held in the same Al Awir prison, has stolen elements of his father's story.
'When you tell a lie, one of the biggest elements of a lie that holds it together, the glue or the substance of a lie, is the truth,' Wolfgang said. 'He's taken the truth and then inserted it into his web of lies.'
Wolfgang expressed sympathy for Katie Price, who married Lee in January days after meeting him, but suggested she may be complicit: 'She's getting a lot of press, and you know that's what her business model is. She's really brought her name back into the spotlight. I think it's a convenient victimhood.'
