Coleen Nolan has opened up about her time on Celebs Go Dating, describing the narrator Rob Beckett as 'vicious' while admitting her romantic journey on the show was an 'absolute disaster'. The 61-year-old Loose Women panellist joined the programme hoping to find love after two failed marriages and a recent split in 2023.
Speaking on her podcast Nolans Uncensored with her children Shane and Ciara, Nolan praised the show's agents and co-stars, but singled out Beckett's narration as particularly cutting. 'He does the narration over it and he's vicious,' she said, adding that despite the long 14 to 15-hour shooting days, it was 'one of the best jobs' she's ever done.
However, the dating aspect did not go to plan. 'Unfortunately, the dating side of it has been an absolute disaster for me,' Nolan confessed. She revealed that every date was based in Essex while she lives in Staffordshire, and that one promising connection fizzled into friendship. 'I think we both knew it was a friendship thing,' she added.
Despite the lack of romance, Nolan said the therapy sessions with agents Paul C Brunson, Anna Williamson and Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn were 'absolutely brilliant' and that she has 'massively changed' as a result. She also noted that her romantic life has been 'non-existent' since splitting from Michael Jones in 2023.
Nolan, who was previously married to Shane Richie and Ray Fensome, said she is not desperate to find love but would welcome it. 'Would I like to meet someone? Absolutely. That would be lovely,' she concluded.
