Jake Paul's MVP Bans Claressa Shields After Ringside Altercation
Claressa Shield Banned by Jake Paul's MVP After Scuffle

World champion boxer Claressa Shields has been handed a lifetime ban by Jake Paul's promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), following a physical altercation at a recent MMA event. The incident occurred during MVP's Rousey vs. Carano event on Saturday night, where Shields was a ringside guest.

Altercation at Ringside

Shields, the undisputed heavyweight champion, was present to witness MMA legend Ronda Rousey's return to the cage, which ended in a 15-second defeat of Gina Carano. During the event, Shields clashed with fellow world champion Alycia Baumgardner, and was filmed slapping Baumgardner's hand away. Security intervened to de-escalate the situation.

MVP's Zero-Tolerance Policy

In a statement, MVP announced the ban, citing a strict zero-tolerance policy for hostile behavior. The statement read: "Most Valuable Promotions is aware of the incident during MVP’s Rousey vs. Carano event on Saturday night involving physical contact by Claressa Shields toward Alycia Baumgardner. MVP maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy for hostile, threatening, or aggressive behavior toward fighters, staff, media, or guests at any of our events. Physical altercations outside the ring or cage are unacceptable in any MVP environment. MVP does not condone, tolerate, or accept Claressa Shields’ behaviour in that setting and it reflects poorly on MVP and women’s sports, which we have worked tirelessly to uplift."

The statement continued: "Effective immediately, Claressa Shields is banned from all MVP events until further notice. There is a time and a place for fighter tension and banter, but to physically attack a fellow athlete while there as a guest inside a private VIP area is unacceptable. MVP would like to thank venue security for their swift response in addressing and de-escalating the situation and appreciate Alycia Baumgardner not retaliating and further amplifying the situation. We remain committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all participants and attendees at our events and will continue to enforce these standards without exception."

Social Media Reactions

Following the incident, Shields took to social media to defend her actions, posting: "I'mma continue giving b****** hell respectfully that lil a** girl said ‘I’ll beat your a** right now’ after already disrespecting me. Now you classy and playing victim. Can’t go around threatening people, take that & try and GET YOUR LICK BACK! #GWOAT." Baumgardner responded simply with "Checkmate."

The ban marks a significant escalation in the ongoing tension between the two champions, with MVP taking a firm stance against any form of physical aggression at their events.
