Timothée Chalamet skips Met Gala for Knicks playoff game

Timothée Chalamet has once again chosen his beloved New York Knicks over girlfriend Kylie Jenner, attending Monday night's playoff game at Madison Square Garden instead of joining her at the Met Gala. The actor, 30, was spotted courtside as the Knicks faced the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Last year, Chalamet similarly skipped the gala to watch the Knicks play the Boston Celtics. In a podcast, he explained he was too 'locked in' with the team, calling that period 'the most fun period of my life.' Jenner, 28, attended the Met Gala solo both years.

Chalamet has become a regular at the Garden, often seen celebrating with the team. Last year, he joined street celebrations after the Knicks defeated the Celtics. Another Knicks superfan, Spike Lee, faced backlash for attending the 2023 Met Gala instead of a playoff game, but was reportedly at Monday's game wearing a basketball-shaped bag.

Chalamet has only attended the Met Gala once, as co-chair in 2021. Jenner has supported him at premieres and awards events, and her solo appearance may draw criticism. Attending both events was impractical due to overlapping timings.
