The Beckham clan have been enjoying time together as a family in New York City, but one notable member was absent: their estranged son, Brooklyn. The 27-year-old celebrity offspring was spotted cutting a solitary figure while stepping out alone for fast food in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Brooklyn was seen at In-N-Out Burger in LA without his wife Nicola, who was nowhere to be seen, while his family was on the opposite coast. Back in January, Brooklyn announced his disassociation from his famous family, declaring he was no longer part of 'Brand Beckham' and insisting his parents and siblings are 'performative'.
Low-Key Look for Brooklyn
On Sunday, Brooklyn opted for a casual outfit comprising a long-sleeved black tee, loose-fitting shorts, a cap, and white sports socks paired with sliders. He was seen scrolling through his phone during the outing, turning his back on his own cooking in favor of a burger.
Victoria Beckham Addresses Feud
Shortly after Brooklyn's explosive statement about their estrangement, Victoria Beckham addressed the feud directly for the first time. She said: 'I think that we've always — we love our children so much. We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we've been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that's all I really want to say about it.'
Family Estrangement Deepens
David and Victoria Beckham, along with their other children Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, have been in New York for events including the launch of Victoria's collection with GAP and the TIME100 Gala. The couple dressed to impress as they entered the ballroom through the building's loading bay.
David and Victoria haven't spoken to Brooklyn since last May, when he and Nicola snubbed the former footballer's 50th birthday celebrations. Brooklyn and Nicola's lawyers wrote to the Beckhams' legal team demanding that they only converse through them. Shortly before Christmas, Brooklyn blocked his parents on Instagram, and in January, he posted a six-page letter claiming his parents controlled him, tried to split him and Nicola up, and left him embarrassed during his wedding first dance.
Speaking about all four of her children, Victoria added that 'being a parent of young adult children and adult children, gosh, I mean, it's very different from having little children.' She said the negative press in the past three months has not affected her fashion and beauty business, stating: 'I think that ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good. I don't think they're buying my eyeliner just because it's me.'
