Princess Beatrice has been 'hit hard' by the fallout from her parents' Epstein scandal, according to a body language expert, after she was seen in a rare joint outing with sister Princess Eugenie in London. The 37-year-old royal appeared strained and unhappy during the lunch date in Mayfair, while Eugenie, 36, displayed a more carefree demeanour.
Body language analyst Judi James told the Mirror that Beatrice seemed less able to 'bluff it out' than her sister. 'Beatrice walks behind her sister here, dressed in a very drab black on a warm sunny day, with her choice of outfit suggesting a desire to avoid attracting attention,' James said. She noted Beatrice's 'haunted expression' and 'clamped shut' lips, as well as barrier gestures like holding her bag in front of her body and folding her arms.
The outing comes amid ongoing turmoil for their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, following the Epstein scandal. Andrew has retreated from public life, while Ferguson has also kept a low profile. A royal source told MailOnline that Beatrice has found herself 'walking a tightrope', torn between supporting her parents and maintaining her own standing within the Royal Family.
Eugenie, meanwhile, was seen later that evening on a date with husband Jack Brooksbank in Notting Hill, smiling as they left a Michelin-starred restaurant. James described Eugenie's smile as 'wall-to-wall', suggesting a display of resilience and bravado. Despite the sisters' different coping styles, they remain close and supportive of each other during the difficult period.
The sisters have largely avoided public appearances in recent months as the scandal dominated headlines. They did join the King and his family for Christmas at Sandringham, but decided not to attend Easter services. Both women were named in the latest tranche of Epstein files released by the US State Department in January.
