Ashley Roberts has described the explosive I'm A Celebrity… South Africa final as 'unhinged' and likened it to a scene from The Jerry Springer Show. The Pussycat Doll spoke out after the live ITV finale on Friday, which saw tempers flare and stars walk off stage over a rehashed argument between Jimmy Bullard and Adam Thomas.
Roberts told Heart Radio: 'It was just unbelievable! People were walking off and there were hands flying everywhere, there was yelling, emotions and crying. It was wild!' She said she felt like she hasn't fully recovered from the experience.
The singer, who was seated between Bullard and David Haye during the broadcast, recounted feeling angry at the way the male co-stars spoke to each other. 'I was seeing the way these men were speaking to one another and it made me really sad,' she said. Roberts noted that the argument, which first occurred in September, was not resolved maturely, with tensions remaining 'through the roof'.
Roberts feared she might get hit by the gesticulating men. 'I was just trying to dodge big man hands flying in my face. I thought at one point I was going to get smacked,' she said. She expressed disappointment that winner Adam Thomas could not fully enjoy his victory due to the drama.
'My heart hurt a bit inside because there's so much going on in the world and for us to then treat each other like that,' Roberts added. 'It's a TV show and it's supposed to be entertaining, and I was just a little bit disappointed by their behaviour.'
