The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! final descended into chaos on Friday night as Jimmy Bullard and David Haye turned on Adam Thomas, claiming he did not deserve to win. The pair repeatedly urged hosts Ant and Dec to air footage of what they described as Adam's 'abusive and intimidating' outburst following a trial. Sinitta and Gemma Collins walked off stage, and later images suggested a tense car park showdown between Ant and Dec and the former contestants.
Now, on their Hangin' Out podcast, Ant and Dec have set the record straight about what really happened after the cameras stopped rolling. Ant explained that he left the studio separately from Dec and encountered David Haye and Jimmy Bullard in the car park. 'I went up to David Haye and he went, 'How brilliant was that? Wasn't that great?'' Ant recalled. 'It was certainly talk about TV, I wouldn't call it great, but we had a laugh and we were cool.'
Ant then approached Jimmy Bullard. 'I just shook his hand and I was like, 'look after yourself' and he was like, 'yeah, cheers'. So there was no confrontation. He wasn't shouting at me, I wasn't shouting at him. I wasn't flanked by two security guards as it said in the paper.' Dec added that David Haye's main concern was ratings: 'He said, 'What about that then? Hope you get some good ratings for that one.'' Ant laughed, saying Haye's behaviour was typical of a boxer used to calling out opponents at matches.
Adam Thomas has since spoken out on his brothers' podcast, The Thomas Bro's, saying he would not have gone on the show for £10million if he had known how things would unfold. He felt exploited and said the experience had tarnished the series for him and his family. Adam admitted he wished bosses had shown the full footage of his heated exchange with Jimmy, explaining that he used strong language which was bleeped out, but that he wished viewers could see the whole picture.
