Angela Scanlon Backs UK Eurovision Entry Despite Odds

Angela Scanlon has joined Rylan and Sara Cox as part of the BBC's commentary team for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Vienna, Austria, for its 70th anniversary. The semi-finals will take place on Tuesday 12 and Thursday 14 May, with the grand final on Saturday 16 May.

The United Kingdom will be represented by LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER with his song 'Eins, Zwei, Drei'. Despite the UK being one of the 'Big Four' countries with an automatic place in the final, the entry faces tough competition from other acts including Finland's collaboration between violinist Linda Lampenius and singer Pete Parkkonen, Australia's Delta Goodrem, and San Marino's Boy George.

UK viewers can vote in Thursday's second semi-final, with voting moving online-only this year via esc.vote or the official Eurovision app. Each vote costs 15p, and viewers can cast up to 10 votes for countries other than their own.

The semi-finals will feature opening and interval acts including a 70-member choir tribute to 'L'amour Est Bleu'. The staging for the UK entry has been overseen by Fredrik 'Benke' Rydman, known for his work on Switzerland's 2024 winner and Finland's 2023 runner-up.
