Buckingham Palace Dinner Invitation to Epstein and 'Cute' Romanian Woman Revealed in Emails
Newly disclosed emails from the extensive Epstein files have revealed that Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor extended an invitation to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and a woman described as "very cute" from Romania for a private dinner at Buckingham Palace. The correspondence, which dates back to September 2010, shows Epstein specifically requested the woman accompany him to the palace for what was intended to be a confidential meeting.
Epstein's Request and Andrew's Response
According to the documents, Epstein initially contacted Andrew to arrange a dinner meeting. Andrew responded enthusiastically, offering multiple options for the venue. He wrote: "Great! Where do you want to go — private at BP (Buckingham Palace) or out in a private room or in a restaurant?" The following day, Andrew followed up, stating: "I am just departing Scotland. Should be down by 1800. I'll ring you when I get down if you can give me a number to ring. Alternatively we could have dinner at Buckingham Palace and lots of privacy." He signed the email simply with the letter "A."
The Invitation and Subsequent Exchange
Epstein promptly replied "bp pleease (cor)" and later added: "I want private time with you, however, i am here with (redacted names) should i bring them all. so as to add some life." Andrew answered: "Yes. Plenty of space here for chat! Bring them." Epstein then wrote back, saying "add one more (redacted name) romanian very cute." The emails provide no further details about the specific plans for the evening, the identities of the other invited guests, or how the dinner ultimately unfolded.
Epstein's Follow-Up and Comments About the Woman
The day after the planned dinner, Epstein wrote to Andrew, telling him "great fun, more later." In a separate communication, Epstein later informed the Romanian woman that Andrew thought she was "beautiful." He wrote: "and you were not going to go because of you didn't like your jeans, you were perfect and andrew thought beautiful. no man looks at your clothes, they see through them, what should we do next."
Background and Broader Context
Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell at a federal jail in Manhattan, New York, in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His death was officially ruled a suicide. Prince Andrew has faced serious allegations, which he vehemently denies, that he sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre when she was a teenager after she was trafficked by Epstein. In 2022, Andrew paid millions to Ms. Giuffre, a woman he has consistently claimed never to have met, to settle a civil sexual assault claim.
Andrew stepped down from royal duties in 2019 following a controversial interview on BBC Newsnight. However, the publication of Ms. Giuffre's posthumous memoir and the US government's release of documents from Epstein's estate have brought renewed and intense scrutiny over his relationship with the financier. This ongoing scrutiny ultimately led to King Charles III officially stripping his brother of both his HRH style and his prince title, marking a significant fall from grace within the royal family.
