Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty has changed his surname to Adam Ramsay Peaty following his marriage to Holly Ramsay, the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. The couple tied the knot on 27 December at Bath Abbey, with Holly also adopting the double-barrelled surname Ramsay Peaty.
The name change has sparked controversy, partly due to Peaty's ongoing feud with his estranged mother, who was not invited to the wedding. Additionally, Peaty's ex-girlfriend, artist Eirianedd Munro, has criticised the move as 'hypocritical', claiming Peaty was previously against giving their son a double-barrelled surname.
Despite the criticism, Holly has embraced her husband's new moniker, referring to him as 'ARP' in a Vogue wedding album. The publication featured a full collection of images from the celebrations, with Holly writing captions that included the affectionate abbreviation.
Holly wore three outfits during the wedding festivities. Her ceremony dress was a dramatic Elie Saab lace gown inspired by the Princess of Wales's wedding dress. She later changed into her mother Tana Ramsay's wedding dress from 1996, which required no alterations, and finished the evening in an Elie Saab minidress.
