Megyn Kelly Bluntly Tells Trump 'You're Effed' Over Latest Polling
Megyn Kelly Tells Trump 'You're Effed' Over Polling

Megyn Kelly has launched a fierce critique of President Donald Trump and the Republican Party following troubling new polling data, delivering her message in characteristically blunt terms: "You're effed."

Polling Data Raises Alarm

The conservative podcast host, who commands over four million subscribers on YouTube, analyzed several recent surveys that highlight growing concerns for the GOP as the midterm elections approach. The polls indicate challenges on both foreign and domestic fronts.

"Americans feel like they gave Trump a year-and-a-half," Kelly stated during her show on Thursday. "He's done nothing other than make things worse. They don't tend to like the tariffs. They don't like the war. They don't like what's happening in their bank accounts."

Kelly, a former Fox News anchor, highlighted a striking poll released on Wednesday by her previous employer. It showed that 52 percent of registered voters favor Democrats on the economy, compared to 48 percent for Republicans.

"Americans prefer Democrats to Republicans on the economy for the first time since 2010, first time in 16 years," Kelly exclaimed, noting that the GOP has historically performed well on kitchen-table issues.

Trump's Approval Ratings Plummet

Trump's personal approval ratings on the economy are even more concerning. According to the poll, 66 percent of respondents disapprove of his economic handling. Additionally, 63 percent disapprove of his approach to Iran, and 72 percent oppose his management of inflation.

Kelly then turned to a new analysis by the Cook Political Report, which reveals that Democrats hold a six-point advantage over Republicans in toss-up congressional districts. Notably, Trump won these districts by an average of two points in 2024.

"Trump has cratered… like not even present tense anymore. It's done! You're effed!" she declared. "You need to adjust something ASAP."

"It's important to talk about it now, when we're several months in advance of the midterms, maybe something could be done," she added.

Gas Prices Soar Amid Iran Conflict

On Friday, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline stood at $4.05, a significant increase from $2.98 just two days before the war began, according to AAA.

Kelly endorsed Trump in 2024 but has since become a vocal critic, particularly over the Iran war, which she claims he was "bamboozled" into launching. Earlier this week, she described the 79-year-old president as amoral, "extremely petty, and thin-skinned."

Last week, Trump retaliated by calling Kelly a "low IQ person" and lashing out at other right-wing influencers who have turned critical of his administration.

Warnings of a Midterm Wipeout

Kelly is not alone in her warnings. On Friday, Axios co-founder and CEO Jim VandeHei said Trump's polling numbers signal trouble ahead.

"It's almost impossible in modern polling, given the ideological impulses of base voters, to get much lower than he is in terms of his unfavorable ratings, but also how unpopular he is when it comes to the economy," VandeHei told MS NOW.

The latest polls come as the Middle East conflict remains paused under a fragile ceasefire. The Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global trade, remains largely sealed due to dueling U.S. and Iranian blockades, driving fuel prices higher.

On Thursday, Trump told reporters he is "not under any pressure whatsoever" to end the Iran war and that Americans should expect gas prices to remain high "for a little while."
