One of the most popular female WWE stars from the late 1990s has made a stunning public appearance, looking remarkably unchanged more than two decades after leaving the wrestling world behind.
From Ring Royalty to Courtroom Advocate
Debra Marshall, now 65, recently attended the Wrestling for Heroes convention in Oklahoma, where fans were amazed by her ageless appearance. The former WWF Women's Champion wore a chocolate brown blazer and stylish bucket hat, appearing almost identical to her wrestling heyday.
The Alabama-born beauty was joined by several other legends from WWE's Attitude Era, including Jacqueline, Rikishi, and The Godfather, creating a nostalgic moment for wrestling enthusiasts.
Fans quickly expressed their admiration on social media, with one commenting 'Looking great!' while another wrote 'You're absolutely gorgeous.. always have been. Always will be.' A third admirer confessed 'Debra was my first crush growing up!'
A Dramatic Career Transformation
After leaving the wrestling business in 2002, Marshall embarked on an entirely different career path. She returned to education and earned a Master of Science degree in criminal justice from the University of Alabama.
She now works in the district attorney's office in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she supports victims and witnesses of violent crimes. Marshall revealed how she connects her past and present careers during an appearance at the For the Love of Wrestling convention in January.
'What I used to do in wrestling really helps because when someone is having a really traumatic day being a victim of a violent crime, then [I'll say] "Do you watch wrestling?"' she explained. 'And then when I tell them, they'll be like, "Oh my gosh, I knew you looked familiar to me!"'
Remembering Her Wrestling Heyday
Debra Marshall first gained fame as the manager of guitar-wielding villain Jeff Jarrett, known for her revealing business attire that typically featured daringly short miniskirts and plunging blouses. Her cleavage became famously known as 'the puppies' after commentator Jerry Lawler coined the crude nickname.
Before joining WWE (then WWF) in 1998, Marshall spent three years playing Queen Debra in WCW. Her popularity soared, and she eventually defeated Sable to become WWF Women's Champion in 1999.
Her personal life also captured headlines when she married WWE megastar Stone Cold Steve Austin in 2000. The couple divorced in 2003 after a domestic violence incident that resulted in Austin receiving probation and community service.
Marshall's career began long before wrestling, with beauty pageants in the late 1980s and early 1990s, followed by a small role in 1995's The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre - the same year she entered professional wrestling.
Her recent convention appearance demonstrates that while her career has taken a dramatic turn toward public service, she remains an unforgettable figure from one of wrestling's most memorable eras.
